Dark Chocolate 02/17/2009

Stick with dark chocolate. Chocolate actually has many beneficial properties. It's packed with antioxidants. It will satisfy your sweet cravings. It can be used when making deserts. Avoid milk chocolates and bars with nuts. The semi sweet dark chocolate is fine and cocoa powder is great too. You can satisfy your sweet tooth and reap the health benefits dark chocolate provides. Turning a negative into a positive.

Use olive oil 02/17/2009

Use olive oil only. Olive oil and flax seed oil are the healthiest oils to consume and the easiest for the body to process. Flax seed oil can be costly, so olive oil is the best choice. It's nutritious and the best product to use when trying to lose weight. Avoid corn, vegetable oils and highly processed products like margarine. Use olive oil for just about everything and when you need to use butter sparingly. Real butter is easier for you body to process.  Whole natural foods are better broken down and eliminated by the body.

Indulge yourself 02/02/2009

Treat yourself to healthy option choices often. Like raspberry yogurt parfaits. A great substitute for  ice cream sundaes. Yogurt mixed with a touch of powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Raspberry sauce, made with fresh raspberries sugar, and water simmered till sauce reduces and slightly thickens. After simmering raspberry sauce let it cool, then alternate layers of the yogurt and raspberry sauce in tall parfait glasses. Chill in fridge for 1 hour then enjoy. Make your indulgences special, paying attention to presentation and flavor, but keep them on the healthy side. Depriving yourself of food and snacks and treats will not work in your favor in the long run.

Skip the chips 02/01/2009

There's a world of food out there discover it! Instead of snacking on the same high fat unhealthy processed foods over and over again try something different. Keep things along the same lines when substituting, carrot sticks instead of chips usually won't do the trick. Try having a batch of potato salad in the fridge made with wedges of potatoes, tomatoes, and  sliced onion. Dressed with lemon juice and olive oil with a touch of salt, no mayo. When you're looking for something to munch on have some of that. It's tasty will satisfy those cravings, lacks all the bad stuff and is lower in calories.

Eat power foods 02/01/2009
